You are always good to a sinner like me

I am so thankful for your grace and company

You keep me safe from day to day

and keep me close when I fervently pray

and when bad choices bring to bare

the type of things that bring fear and despair

you hold my hand when I cry out in shame and regret

and lead me through the worst of it

To sing your praises is what I will learn to do

I will learn to follow you

and At the end of my rope your light comes to bare

you led me out of that pit of despair

Dark Untitled poem

Falling apart in the silence

of a battered heart

Brought on by worlds

torn apart

In willful ignorance

we march forward blind

to a destiny that perhaps

has boundaries predefined

this is not God’s will

but human arrogance

the demands of

those blessed and cursed

no matter how it’s defined

or prepackaged and sold

it’s the same every time

the desire for vengeance upon

the undesirable other

creates chaos in all lives

destroys the innocence inside

of those who just wish to be.

it perpetuates outward

the sickness of the damned

creating new mad men*

hemmed in by the wall

in their mind

believing somewhere is sublime

but all of it is filled with

the rotting field of corpses and death

marketed with flowers

but unremembered

and sold as places for growth

Under Oath

those who protect the ignorance

shine forward in the eyes

of those pushing for their own happiness

in the perpetuation of the lies

and not giving a damn…

all I see is sin.

Take away my eyes

I don’t want to feel this.

Why give sight to the cowardly

it makes no difference.

Screaming into the darkness

Only heard by the shadows

and picked apart for convenience

Tie together the lines

and keep the string to console you

tearing apart the light

and like vultures

fighting over the scraps you like

leaving the rest for the rats and mice

but on the surface continue to push

that everything is nice

Those flower gardens grow

and more red blooms

The bleeding heart cries

before there is silence

once more.

Some words for the reader: Sorry, I’ve been in a fairly dark mood as of late and it’s partly because of some external factors. So, I decided to share this poem that I wrote today. Though it’s highly unlikely this poem will be understood if it is read, I figured I’d share it anyways though and I don’t plan to give any clarity to it at this point. It’s not that good as far as poems are concerned, so I hope you can forgive me for that and I am sorry if you were looking for something a bit more sunny. I am going to try to find some more inspiration for more positive and uplifting writings to contrast this a bit. I’ve been struggling lately with anxiety and stress among other things, so it’s been easier for me to go dark than light over the past few days. However, while it’s good to be true to myself in what I post, there is also major utility in working on something more challenging to me in my current state of mind. I already have a plan for some more neutral and happy haiku and some potential topics for lighter writings to make things a bit more tolerable for those who do not enjoy the dark poetry. Anyways, I hope all my blog readers have a good day and I look forward to reading your work as well. Thank you for reading.

Haiku x2 and Update: 5/21/19

#1 – Resentment happens

when you hate what you’re doing

but continue it

#2 – Feeling Entitled

doesn’t create endearment

willingness is key

Update: I’ve been really tired lately and very busy. I am currently at a crossroads in my life and I’m trying to make the right decisions. I hope everyone has a great day!
